About the Author
Mary Houck is the gifted author of The Circle of Poetry from a Mother and Son, which was published in 2010. A single mother of three beautiful children, she lives in Washington, DC. Mary earned her high school diploma with honors at James Madison High School and earned a certificate in personal computer training at PCDI.
Mary was the third child born into a family of six children. As a young child, Mary had strange dreams that she couldn’t understand. As she got older, she started to tell people about her dreams, which influenced her writing and would one day inspire her to become a published author.
Mary ultimately joined the Christian Tabernacle Church of God. As the years passed, Mary became wiser. God put many people in her path, and they too had prophesied that her gift was writing. Mary wrote and directed several different screenplays, and she sang in the choir. She also got a job in a faith-based after-school program. There, she continued to direct and write screenplays.
Mary loves to work with youth, and understands what they need from young adults such as herself—support, understanding, wisdom, and love. She volunteers her time with the women of N Street Village. Her mission is to reach as many young women as possible to help them understand their worth and develop a healthy self-image.
Mary is currently in school earning an associate’s degree in computer information.
